Australian label Billini is pushing towards body inclusivity through the launch of its new footwear capsule Billini Curve.

The new capsule comes after consumer demand prompted the brand to launch a more body-conscious footwear range, designed to fit a variety of feet, including those with wider calves.

Speaking with Ragtrader, Billini owner and founder Susannah Khouzame said the newly launched capsule was 12 months in the making.

“As the love of our brand reaches new heights and Billini is tried on more and more feet, we realised that not only do feet shapes and sizes differ tremendously, but so do body shapes,” Khouzame said.

“So we have made a conscious effort to evolve into a more inclusive brand that ‘is made to fit, as you are’.

“We found that there is a real lack of on-trend wide-calf fitting boots globally, so we are super excited to present this offering and celebrate all shapes and sizes.”

The collection features three of Billini’s best-selling boots reimagined in a neutral colour palette of chocolate, walnut, bone and black.

Khouzame said Billini began the fitting process with thorough research while utilizing the technical expertise of its existing supplier.

“We went through several fitting samples and fit them on a wide range of shapes and sizes, to ensure we developed a fit that would cater to a broad customer group,” Khouzame said.

“Our main challenges revolved around perfecting the fit, which was something we weren’t going to compromise on.

“The sampling and production process was therefore far more extensive and required a lot more time and attention from the team, however this is expected with any new project.

“We are now ready to take on more after overcoming these initial challenges and are excited to do so."

Khouzame commended her design and production team for their dedication to this capsule, saying they are excited to grow the category “in the near future.”

“This collection is just the beginning. Billini’s mission continues to be delivering on-trend footwear and accessories made to fit you, as you are.”

The range will be available online from 7pm September 21, and in selected Billini stores from September 22, with an RRP of $139.95.
