US-based Liberated Brands has confirmed today that its long-running executive Damien Campbell will succeed Greg Healy as the CEO of the business for the Asia Pacific region.
Liberated Brands is the new owner of Australian surfing brands Quiksilver and Billabong, alongside other surfwear brands Roxy, Volcom, Spyder, RVCA, Honolua. and Captain Fin, all in partnership with Authentic Brands Group.
Campbell has been with Liberated Brands since December 2023, where he was the head of sales, marketing and e-commerce. Prior to this, he spent six years in various c-suite roles at Boardriders, Luxottica and Oakley.
Healy’s decision to step down comes after nearly three decades with the company. It also follows the successful transition of the Boardriders brands to new ownership and overseeing a platform integration plan that is now in execution phase.
In an internal memo to the company’s regional staff, Healy stated, “Leaving a company that I love so much is bittersweet but knowing Damo [Damian Campbell] is my successor makes it that much easier,” he said. “Damo has proven his unparalleled expertise, and I am certain that he will continue to foster a community-centric culture while simultaneously building a more sustainable business.
“Throughout my journey, I have been deeply moved by the opportunity to nurture our Americas, EMEA and APAC businesses and guide their transformations. The lifelong friendships I have made across the globe and the experiences I have shared with everyone make me forever grateful for the opportunity to work alongside so many of you and be part of such a great company.”
Global CEO of Liberated Todd Hymel thanked Healy for is commitment and industry dedication for nearly three decades.
“Though he will be greatly missed, we are proud to uphold his legacy and look forward to working with Damian to further the impact of our brands across the region,” Hymel said.
Healy’s departure and Campbell’s appointment will be effective as of August 3, 2024.
