Global sporting brand Umbro will launch its first-ever women’s performance and athleisure range in Australia, with local retailer Big W scoring exclusive distribution rights.
According to Umbro, the new women’s range covers intense workouts to casual, everyday wear.
Designworks International, the Australia and New Zealand owner of the Umbro brand, welcomed the partnership with Big W.
“Umbro has a long-standing reputation for creating on trend, quality sports and streetwear, and this launch allows us to make that accessible to women everywhere," Designworks MD Brooke Norton said.
Big W commercial director Amanda Lunn said she and her team are confident their customers will like the range.
"Our customers trust us to offer quality brands at great prices, and we are really excited to introduce Umbro to our womenswear range at Big W," Lunn said.
The new women’s collection reportedly uses a mix of fabrications, including polyester/elastane interlock, breathable mesh and 4-way stretch woven fabrications for each style, all moisture-wicking. The range also includes a brushed fleece capsule and a fashion tee in a drop needle fabrication.
The launch will coincide with an in-store, online, and extensive influencer campaign with some “high-profile” ambassadors.
The range will launch at Big W on November 1.
