Popular 80s and 90s brand LA Gear is making a comeback and will launch in Australia exclusively with Big W.
The brand is coming back Down Under thanks to A.Royale & Co – the business which holds the Australian licence for LA Gear – which is responsible for the brand's design, development, creative and brand direction as well as distribution locally.
"We’re so excited to be able to bring LA Gear back to Australia and to introduce the brand to new generations of Athleisure wear lovers," A.Royale & Co GM Michael Ratzer said.
"Being exclusively stocked in retail giant Big W, gives us an amazing reach across a diverse mix of Australian’s nationwide, helping us reignite the love for the brand across all ages, for this long awaited nostalgic revival," he said.
The collection launching in Big W pays homage to some of the brand's most popular styles and draws on nostalgia for the 80s and 90s.
The new 100-piece men's and womenswear ranges feature tie-dye prints, pastels, lime greens, cropped tees, oversized hoodies, parachute jackets and socks.
Big W head of commercial, apparel Lowri Breed welcomed the launch of LA Gear in Australia.
"Big W is absolutely thrilled to be partnering exclusively with LA Gear on its comeback into the Australian market.
"With its nostalgic nod to the 90s, we know our customers will love the chance to brighten up their wardrobe with affordable pieces from the LA Gear range," she said.
Dedicated to protecting the environment, LA Gear will donate 1% of sales to environmental non-profit charities through its partnership with 1% for the Planet.
The LA Gear collection is now available at Big W and retails from $15 to $59.
