Bianca Spender has been announced as the opening runway show for Afterpay Australian Fashion Week (AAFW) 2022.
Spender will present a summer and resort collection at Carriageworks within Gallery I, a space dedicated to Spender's late mother, Carla Zampatti.
Additionally, the brand returns to the AAFW runway for the first time since 2018.
"Being named the opening runway show at AAFW is a true celebration of the Bianca Spender brand," founder Bianca Spender said.
"For me, this presentation is a culmination of my journey through fashion – highlighting; self-expression, creativity, curiosity, and the drive to write my own story," she said.
Spender's summer/resort collection will be presented to guests of industry and trade and will aim to communicate the evolution of the brand and showcase its commitment to design and sustainable practices.
Alongside the summer/resort range, Bianca Spender will present a capsule collection of see–now-buy-now pieces, available to consumers for immediate purchase both online and in-stores.
"As the events of the last two years have shifted the way we interact with fashion, I see it as essential to connect and to bring our audience on the journey with us," Spender said of the see-now, buy-now range.
IMG fashion events and properties APAC VP-MD Natalie Xenita welcomed the return of Bianca Spender to AAFW.

Bianca Spender’s summer/resort collection and see-now-buy-now capsule range will launch AAFW's runway offering at 9AM Monday May 9, 2022, on-site at Carriageworks.
The show will also be livestreamed on the AAFW website.
