Balenciaga has opened a store in Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport.
The 81 square meter space showcases Balenciaga’s 'Raw Architecture' concept with intentionally raw and aged surfaces.
An entryway with concrete columns on either side opens underneath a large, front-lit sign affixed onto rough concrete panels.
A unfinished and partially deconstructed interior includes anodized aluminium and glass displays, suspended industrial racks, distressed faux-leather furniture, and a brushed cement floor resembling sidewalk tile.
Stained grey curtains hang behind glass panes that back metal shelves, while a metal grate partially obscures the building’s technical elements; air ducts, electrical cables, and support beams.
The grate and various wall and floor displays are lined with track lighting systems.
The Balenciaga Sydney Airport store offers a selection of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, jewellery, eyewear, and accessories.
