French fashion house Balenciaga has opened its first store in Broadbeach Waters on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

Located in the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, the new space takes on Balenciaga’s ‘raw architecture’ concept, and offers the latest ranges across men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, accessories, eyewear and jewellery.

The store’s exterior façade and interior design includes unfinished and distressed construction elements, using fewer virgin materials.

A white-lit Balenciaga sign announces the store from the vantage point of a polished mall court, set against concrete slabs and plain windows.

The 319 square metre space includes raw metal fixtures, worn upholstery and an exposed ceiling grid, with patinas and stains to reference ageing.

The Balenciaga store is situated between Christian Louboutin and Boss, and joins a tenancy of over 400 stores.

Balenciaga operates seven stores across Australia, including a shop-in-shop at David Jones in Sydney.
