Intimiti Australia has announced Eric Yip as the new chief operations officer of its flagship brand, CELYS Compostable Polyester.
The brand was established in Australia in 2014 and launched to industry in London on February 2024 as the world’s first compostable polyester fibre.
The biodegradable fibre was created to directly target microplastic shedding pollution, which Intimiti calls a key unseen threat of polymer and plastic use.
After completing its first round of funding in late 2023, the new fibre is reportedly primed for further expansion into 2025. This includes team expansion at both its Sydney headquarters and internationally.
Yip joins the executive team with over 27 years of experience in the tech and innovation industries. He holds experience across general management, sales, and marketing.
“I am incredibly excited to take on this meaningful role, in a space that is making positive and critical impacts on people around the world,” Yip said. “A heartfelt thank you to the board of executives for their trust and confidence in me.
“I’m eager for the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of CELYS.”
With Yip secured in the business, further expansion plans are underway into Europe and North America with active recruitment for key sales and management teams based in these territories to further drive relationships.
