Global fashion etailer Asos has launched a groundbreaking initiative for the Australian market, as it continues to grow its local empire.

To hear more about what Asos has planned for the Australian market, be sure to secure your tickets to Ragtrader Live here.

The British etail giant has released a new Australian shipping service titled Asos Premier, to speed up local delivery times and enable customers to receive orders within as little as two days from the time of transaction.

Described as an “industry debut for online fashion retailers in Australia”, the Asos Premier service costs just $49 per year, with no restriction on the number of orders placed per Premier customer within that timeframe, and no minimum order value.

Customers will be able to purchase Premier by adding to their cart at any point in the shopping process, and two-day delivery windows will be offered in Metro areas. This will increase slightly, to three days, for regions outside of Metro hubs.

Throughout the 12 months, each Premier customer will also be the recipient of other Asos benefits, including exclusive discounts and early access to sales. For a limited time, consumers will be also offered the opportunity to receive a one-year subscription to Asos magazine (currently only distributed to Asos Premier customers in the UK).

Asos has also launched its new Returns Portal, simultaneously, in a bid to increase the ease of item returns for Asos customers. The new service offers set prices for same day courier collection or returns via Australia Post.

Customers can now choose to opt for same day courier collection – which will collect the item directly from the customer's front door for $8.95 – or post items from Australia Post for $7.85, with both options fully tracked.

The portal will also be extended to offer a 'Store Drop Off' service in the coming months, with locations to be announced shortly.

Commenting on the latest additions to the growing Asos business in Australia, Asos country manager for Australia Sally-Anne Newson said the initiatives are part of a larger local strategy.

“Asos is all about creating an easy, seamless shopping experience for our customers, giving them the opportunity to buy the fashion they want, when and how they want it. The launch of Asos Premier in this market is a continuation of our commitment to servicing our Australian customers, giving them the widest fashion choice and the speediest deliveries,” she said.

Asos country manager for Australia Sally-Anne Newson is a confirmed speaker for Ragtrader Live in August.
