Australian retail portfolio Alquemie Group has commenced a rollout of Disney100 pop-ups in Westfield malls across Australia and New Zealand from today, in its deal with The Walt Disney Company.

The pop-ups - which mark Disney’s 100th anniversary - will sell merchandise such as a Mickey and Minnie Disney100 Celebration Eats Hat and a Mickey Mouse and Friends T-Shirt, alongside toys and photo opportunities.

Its first pop-ups include Bondi Junction, NSW opening today until May 1, Fountain Gate, Victoria opening March 16 to May 5, and Chermside, Queensland opening March 18 to May 1.

Scentre Group CEO Elliott Rusanow, which oversees the Westfield portfolio, welcomed the collaboration with Disney.

“We’re pleased to be collaborating with Disney in 2023 to celebrate its timeless storytelling across all 42 of our Westfield centres,” Rusanow said. “We know the intergenerational appeal of Disney will resonate deeply with our customers, and we look forward to welcoming fans of all ages to our destinations from this month.”

The collaboration between Westfield and Disney commenced in February, with 25 family holidays to Disneyland Resort in California on offer to Westfield Plus members.

The Disney100 pop-ups will continue to roll out in other select Australian Westfield centres through the year, alongside LEGO installations, events and activations.

In May 2022, Alquemie Group signed a deal with Disney’s National Geographic to launch apparel in Australia and New Zealand.

Alquemie executive chairman Richard Facioni said the deal will see a portfolio of new National Geographic experiential retail stores open, as well as an eCommerce destination.
