In this Australian Fashion Week (AFW) special, Ragtrader talks with the industry on the key trends in fashion right now. Here, High End CEO and CCO Brooke Marks (pictured right) reveals the resale platform's top brands.

Which Australian designer brands are performing well this year on High End?

Camilla & Marc and Zimmermann are two of the most coveted Australian brands on the platform. Our customers love Camilla & Marc's tailored jackets, trenches, and coats, while Zimmermann's dresses and prints are always a favourite amongst our customers. Camilla and Marc, renowned for its relaxed tailoring aesthetic, has witnessed a remarkable 383% increase in customer interest across the High End platform.

Which runways are piquing your interest at AFW this year?

We are looking forward to seeing a diverse range of collections at Australian Fashion Week this year. Specifically, PE Nation, Albus Lumen and Viktoria and Woods.

How do you approach the selection process when deciding which brands to list on High End?

Our accepted brand list is curated based on craftsmanship, brand reputation, and customer demand. As we add new designers to the platform, we consider factors such as current trends and market relevance. To ensure that all brands listed on our platform are genuine, we have rigorous authentication processes in place before any upcoming brand can be added. This is to ensure our authentication promise.

With cost-of-living pinching wallets this year, have you changed the way you approach brand approval?

We remain focused on maintaining a high level of quality and exclusivity when it comes to brand approval on the platform despite concerns about cost of living. Keeping in mind the evolving needs of our customers, we are however more focused on offering a variety of price points without compromising on luxury or style and buying resale can often save you up to 80% off RRP.

Does sustainability and ethical considerations influence the way High End curates pieces?

Consumer demand for transparency and accountability has led to more sustainable practices in the fashion industry in recent years. Designers are now integrating eco-friendly materials and responsible production techniques into their collections and there has been a broader shift within the fashion industry towards sustainability and ethics. Brands are now adapting to meet the evolving expectations of consumers who seek a more sustainable shopping experience as a result, which we expect to fuel exponential growth in the resale industry.

What is the next big fashion trend?

We expect to see items with bold prints and colours, suggesting a move towards more expressive fashion choices and finding individual style. Our top 5 fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2024, including Metallic, The New Prep, Bold Stripes, Craft Detailing, and Relaxed Tailoring.
