ACP publishing director Gerry Reynolds has confirmed an ACP executive will take the reins at Harper's Bazaar as former editor Edwina McCann moves on to head Vogue Australia.
Commenting on McCann's resignation, Reynolds revealed that McCann will remain in the editor's chair through the publication of the August issue of Harper's Bazaar, with ACP Magazines Asia chief executive officer, Julie Sherborn to manage the transition period thereafter, until a new editor is appointed.
Reynolds added that ACP has begun the search for McCann's successor and will announce a new editor for the magazine in due course.
He also wished McCann all the best ahead of her new role.
“Edwina has given us great service over the past three years leading the Harper's Bazaar team and building an exceptional title. We wish her well in her future career,” he said.
Sherborn has extensive experience editing and managing fashion and lifestyle publications and will be based in Sydney during the transition period, reporting directly to Harper's Bazaar publisher, Robyn Foyster.
Over the past 20 years Sherborn has successfully launched the Singapore and Malaysian editions of Harper's Bazaar and Cosmopolitan, the Singapore edition of Elle, as well as Asian editions of a range of ACP titles.
Harper’s Bazaar launched in Australia in 1998 and forms part of the joint venture between ACP Magazines and Hearst Magazines International. The joint venture also publishes international titles in this market including Cosmopolitan and Madison.
