The 2023 Afterpay Australian Fashion Week has launched today, with Australian designer brand Alemais opening the 5-day feat.
Alemais presented its 2024 Resort collection at Carriageworks in Sydney featuring designs across womenswear whcih includes matching skirts and tops.
The Australian designer brand joins a host of other Australian and New Zealand designers today including Michael Lo Sordo, Bondi Born and Maggie Marilyn.
The week-long event will feature 46 shows and presentations at Carriageworks, Sydney between May 15 to 19.
IMG fashion events and properties APAC MD Natalie Xenita said the schedule will feature a number of established and emerging designers.
“The 2023 schedule features the next generation of Australian designers defining the future of Australian fashion alongside some of the industry’s biggest names and celebrates the ingenuity and unmatched creative talent of our country,” Xenita said.
“The Australian fashion industry is a global powerhouse and AAFW in Sydney is its keystone.”
