Australian consumers looking for a way to shop second-hand fashion now have the option to purchase via social marketplace Poshmark.
Following its launch in Australia earlier this week, Australian shoppers can now browse, buy and sell pre-loved products across men's, women's, kids', home, pets, beauty and party categories.
Poshmark's expansion to Australia forms part of its growth strategy which sees it expand to English speaking countries first.
Australia is the second market for Poshmark to expand into outside of the US, following a launch in Canada in May 2019.
The expansion into Canada saw the platform grow its active user base to more than 1.4 million in the first year.
Founder and CEO Manish Chandra welcomed the launch into Australia.
"We are excited to bring our social marketplace to Australia, extending Poshmark’s simple, social and sustainable shopping and selling experience across the globe.
"Poshmark’s community has only become stronger and more dynamic as it has grown and we are thrilled to welcome Aussies to join us as we shape the future of shopping, together.
"The launch is only the beginning and we look forward to building a thriving and successful community in Australia," he said.
Australians can connect and interact with Poshmark's 70 million users across the US and Canada via the app or the web.
Aussies looking to sell on the platform will have access to a suite of end-to-end seller tools and services, including easy listing, merchandising, promotion, pricing, and shipping.
The platform is complemented by its social elements and events, with 87% of items purchased on Poshmark in 2019 preceded by a social interaction (like, comment, or offer).
