Australian sportswear brand 2XU has announced it will make a limited number of garments from its collaboration with Kanye West's Yeezy label available to Australian customers on May 5.

A limited number of the Yeezy x 2XU range will be available during an event at 2XU's Paddington store as well as online through the 2XU website for members of the Yeezy x 2XU community.

The event at the Paddington store will begin at 9am and will include a random ballot to determine which customers will have the opportunity to purchase a piece from the range within the store.

Online shoppers will receive an exclusive code to enter on the 2XU website with a first in, best dressed policy and a limit of one item per customer starting at 12pm.

2XU co-founder Jamie Hunt said the company was excited to bring the collection to Australian shoppers after being approached by the Yeezy team in early 2017 at New York Fashion Week.

“2XU has been working closely with Yeezy to integrate high-performance technical fabrics into the world of fashion since early 2017.

“The Yeezy design team loved the look and feel of our eco-friendly neoprene matte-finish fabric, and wanted to include this technology in the Yeezy range.

“We've now worked closely with Yeezy on their past three collections and couldn't be more excited to give Australians the opportunity to get their hands on the first of these Yeezy x 2XU garments.”

Since partnering with Yeezy, 2XU has provided technical fabric expertise, engineering and construction insights to the Yeezy design team for its season 5, 6 & 7 collections.

Since the original season 5 neoprene collection, the range has extended to compression tights, tops and socks, jackets, shoes and more.
