Australian surfwear brand Piping Hot has teamed up with Marvel to launch its Heroes for the Ocean surfwear collection.

The range is made from recycled polyester and features Marvel superheroes on the new board shorts and rash vests.

The collection furthers Piping Hot's mission for clean oceans, which has seen it save 11.2 million plastic bottles from entering landfill and waterways.

The new collection with Marvel comes as a recent survey of 2000 Aussies found that our oceans, climate change and plastic waste are the top concerns for respondents, when COVID is out of the picture.

"Oceans are our most valuable resource and are essential to human survival," Piping Hot brand and marketing director Amy Low said.

"We believe the protection of our oceans needs more urgent action.

"This is why all Piping Hot products contain materials that are recycled, recyclable, renewable and biodegradable.

"As a brand that was born from a love of the ocean from a family-friendly coastal town, we are on a mission to make sustainability affordable for families and find new ways to protect our oceans by constantly improving and innovating our products to meet the highest environmental standards," she said.

Alongside using recycled polyester, Piping Hot also uses a blend of BCI and recycled cotton, European linen and CanopyStyle Audited low-risk viscose suppliers, to reduce the impact of its garments.

The new Piping Hot x Marvel Heroes for the Ocean surfwear has UPF50+ sun protection and is available exclusively in Target stores Australia wide.

The collection is priced from $18 to $25.
