NATIONAL: Witchery has announced a new fundraising initiative for ovarian cancer, the White Shirt Campaign. The womenswear retailer has created five crafted white tops to be sold instore, with 100 per cent of funds going directly to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF), which it has supported for seven years.
The White Shirt Campaign range includes a classic oversized boyfriend shirt, priced $99.95; a silk-satin ruffle sleeve blouse, priced $149.95; a tuxedo vest, priced $149.95; an asymmetrical silk jersey ruffled top, priced $109.95; and an updated version of the classic tank, with silk voile pleated front, priced $89.95.
The White Shirt Campaign follows Witchery's 'Every Cloud' diary and exclusive silver gift range of 2007 which raised over $330,000 for ovarian cancer research from August 2007 until June 2008.
Launching the White Shirt Campaign on August 14, Witchery CEO Iain Nairn said the brand aimed to outdo its previous success by raising over $500,000 through its latest initiative.
"We are very serious about our partnership with the OCRF. As yet, there is still no early detection test for ovarian cancer and as a female-focused company, we would like to change this alarming fact."
The funds raised would go towards the OCRF’s goal to develop and implement an early detection test that would ultimately be as readily available to women as a pap smear or breast check.
The limited edition White Shirt Campaign collection be available at Witchery stores from October 13.
