SYDNEY: Men's eyewear brand Flint is taking to the shores for its spring/summer collection.
The Sydney-headquartered company has collaborated with professional surfer Nathan Webster on a 10-piece range of sunglasses. Exclusively available in David Jones until January 2008, when it will rollout across selected stores nationwide, the line takes its inspiration from Webster's experiences as a surfer.
The 'Double D or Bust' model is an ode to his surf with Incubus rock star Brandon Boyd while 'Rosco Kids' is a nod to friends who reside in Roscoe Street in Bondi. The latter appear in the brand's eyewear campaign; shot by Steven Baccon and styled by Webster himself.
Materials used in the collection include handcrafted acetates, lightweight metal frames and impact resistant lenses. Colours range from black, honey, white, brown and cream.
Webster said Australian eyewear group Sunshades, which owns and operates Flint, had discussed a potential collaboration for some time.
"This was a perfect fit," he said. "I am enjoying the creative opportunity that this collaboration gives me."
