The first day of February saw Victoria's glitterati turned out in their finery to celebrate the official launch of L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) 2007, scheduled from March 4 to 10. Mingling in the crowds at LMFF venue the Melbourne Museum plaza, those present included Victorian premier Steve Bracks, LMFF chair Naomi Milgrom and this year's festival ambassador actress Emily Browning,
A big splash
Marine lifestyle brand Henri-Lloyd was in the mood to spoil its Victorian retailers over the Australia Day long weekend. Staging a champagne luncheon for them at Geelong's swanky waterfront restaurant Le Parisien, the company also brought in revered sailor Tony Purkiss as a guest speaker. As if that wasn't enough, celebrations were capped off with a preview parade of Henri-Lloyd's French Rivera-inspired 2007 collection.
Fishy Fashion
Sydney's fashion pack were out in force at a recent unveiling of the new-look Oyster Magazine. As guests spilled into Hugo's Lounge in Kings Cross, waiters and barstaff descended with fruity cocktails and steaming pizzas. But it wasn't all about great food and trendy folks. The soiree also celebrated the magazine's collaboration with myspace - which co-launched a new fashion website, myspace.com.au/fashion earlier this month.
