WGSN sees a complete change of direction for autumn/winter 2012/13 in a palette of intense colour and modest cover-up silhouettes.
Autumn/winter 2012/13 trend inspiration explores clashing cultures, aesthetics and lifestyles that all fuse at a point of impact. This thought process helps us redefine luxury, gender, traditional cultures and challenges our perception on what is considered normal.
The season’s palette is divided into rich autumnal colours of wine reds, pine greens, khaki, russet browns and navy, while contrasted with graphic pop brights of flame red, electric blue, cobalt and winter yellows. We also see a small select range of chalky pastels continue into the winter season.
For womenswear, designers flirted with historical influences drawn from both Victorian and Edwardian eras, with high necklines and a return to structured dressing in an evolution of masculine/feminine looks.
Heritage drives the commercial menswear offering for another season with a more directional take being applied by integrating performance sports styling.
