Feels like NYC
DKNY Jeans celebrated the launch of its first Australian flagship by staging a 'New York City experience' for Sydney consumers. The brand gave away free hotdogs and hosted performances by hip-hop group Darrio Street and graffiti artist Az One in Sydney's Pitt Street Mall. Winning spirit
Up-and-coming names in film, fashion, music and more were celebrated at the 2010 Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards hosted at Sydney’s harbour-side Museum of Contemporary Art. Dion Lee beat out fellow fashion designers Michael Lo Sordo and Carly Hunter to win a mentorship with Nicky and Simone Zimmermann as well as $10,000 in cash and flights. Lee is pictured with the Zimmermann sisters and Romance Was Born designer Luke Sales.

The big bang
Actress Sigrid Thornton joined Esprit Australia’s marketing manager Jennifer Segal at the fashion retailer’s Big Bang celebrations in Melbourne. The event saw 10 Esprit stores across the world join with customers and the public to drum three million ‘bangs’ to signify their support for India’s SOS Children’s Villages. Esprit pledged €500,000
to the charity as part of the event.

 

Sports star in store
Betts unveiled its new look concept store at Westfield Bondi Junction, Sydney, with help from brand ambassador and Australian cricketer Mitchell Johnson. The opening of the larger space brought the shoe retailer’s store portfolio to over 110 sites. Snapped at the opening were the store’s manager Andy Tainton, Mitchell Johnson and Betts marketing manager Gino Premici.
