SYDNEY: Porsche Design has revealed the launch of its first domestic concept store will not be the last, with plans to open sites in key cities across Australia.
Speaking at a function to celebrate the launch of the brand's Sydney store last night, Porsche Design Australia franchise partner Paul Lee said the company initially scouted sites in Bondi before securing a prime location in King Street.
He told Ragtrader the company planned to roll out four to five stores in Australia over the next six to eight years.
"At this stage, we have been scouring for suitable sites in Melbourne and possibly another site in Sydney," he said.
The King Street flagship store stocks a full range of unisex products, spanning apparel, accessories, luggage and footwear with prices ranging from $71 for a men's t-shirt to $1600 for a leather jacket.
The Porsche Design Group is a majority-owned subsidiary of Porsche AG in Stuttgart, Germany.
In August, group had 81 stores globally - including eleven own stores and 70 franchise and travel retail sites - but an expansion drive has since seen this grow to over 100 locations.
The opening of Porsche Design Sydney follows the recent launch of Lamborghini's first Australian fashion boutique in Melbourne.
