Local e-shopping club operator Apac Sale Group has confirmed plans to launch another site in South East Asia, following a Thailand launch in November.

The company, founded by entrepreneur Jamie Jackson, currently operates five online sites which sell apparel, accessories, beauty and homewares at up to 80 per cent off online. The sites, including the Australian-based powerhouse OzSale.com, currently offer membership-based shopping across Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore and its latest venture, Thailand. However, according to Apac Sale Group CEO Carl Jackson, the business is now ready to expand again, with Korea, Indonesia and China top of the list.

“We are very firmly placed now to continue the drive in South East Asia and there is definitely another market coming next year in South East Asia,” Jackson said. “We’re just now conceptualising the best route in, whether that’s a joint venture partnership, like Thailand [with The Minor Corporation], or whether it will be a wholly owned operation like Singapore and Malaysia. In terms of where we will be setting up, it could be Korea, China or Indonesia, as we now have a road map of who we could partner with in those markets, if we chose to partner with another company. We are starting initial meetings with plans to launch in the coming year.”

Jackson said Australian brands are first in line to benefit from the expansion.

“Our sites offer two points of difference for brands here in Australia. First, if brands do have an inventory or a distress stock issue, and they don’t want it disposed of in their core market, we provide a release valve out of their core market that won’t disturb their wholesale or retail partnerships,” he said.

It also has local brands access to global markets, with nearly half of its 2.8 million registered customers sitting outside Australia. Ozsale.com private sale items including Alex Perry, Guess, G-Star Raw, Armani and Diesel.
