An accessories retail concept spearheaded by several former Oroton Group executives is on track to rollout 12 stores over the next two to three years, following the opening of its first site in Chatswood this year.

Melbourne is set to be the next focal point for Status, which has also secured a Westfield Bondi store for its multi-brand accessory offer. The company is driven by former Oroton Group international marketing director Jeff Burnes, former Oroton Group commercial manger Jo James and former Oroton Group product manager Vanessa Mitchell.

Burnes has positioned Status as a multi-channel player with an online and bricks-and-mortar presence, as well as a focus on emerging technologies aimed at driving customer interaction. The brand’s Loyalty program A+ rewards customers for purchases across either channels and can be redeemed for future purchases or branded gifts.

Burnes told Ragtrader future store sites will be determined by target profiles of local areas.

“Chatswood was originally selected based on the need to reach the strong North Shore customer base whom relate to the brand concept and business model. We carried out extensive research to understand the demographic skew and requirements of the area and naturally, sales potential.”

Status brands include Guess, Diesel, DKNY and Marc by Marc Jacobs.
