Multi-channel retailer Matches Fashion has revealed Australia as its third largest market, and has hinted at the possibility of a local retail roll out in future.

As reported recently on ragtrader.com.au, the news follows the appointment of media relations agency NAC Group to drive the company's media activity within Australia.

Matches PR & communications director Jess Christie said NAC Group will be essential to the group's growth here, and will advise Matches specifically on brand strategy within the Australian market, drive brand awareness, focus on editorial placement and house some specific collections in the NAC-Group showroom.

Commenting on plans for the local market, Christie said cementing an online presence, working closely with Australian designers, creating exclusive content, brand extensions and striking up key partnerships will be a major focus for the next 12 months.

She also revealed that while the brand, which operates 14 fashion concept stores in London, has no immediate plans to launch outlets in Australia, the company is continually assessing opportunities and “would never rule this out”.

“Matchesfashion.com now ships to 120 countries – and while Australia sits at number three we are aware that we are only servicing a very small percentage of the market and so the potential to grow is tremendous,” Christie said.
