Fascination with the female form, its curves and lines and the affects of light upon them was the inspiration for the first Mo Resign jerwellery collection crafted by French Australian artist, Olivier. Mo Resin is a range of resin jewellery handmade in Australia and based in Maianbar, in the heart of the Royal National Park, one hour South of Sydney. The debut limited edition collection, “Autumn Slender Native”, will be sold through Australian boutiques and art galleries, with the 30-piece range including necklace,s pendants, rings, earrings, brooches and one bangle. Product comes in three “autumn colours only” – Eucalyptus, Hazelnut and Pumpkin – and will retail from $59 to $179.
Bright future
Lifestyle accessories brand Suboo will release a line of women’s beach and spring/summer apparel later this year, following the success of its first MBFWA spring/summer collection 360 catwalk show this year. The initial range, “A Place in the Sun”, pays homage to the photography of artist, Slim Aarons. Suboo’s resort range will be in-store from July/August, with ready-to-wear and swimwear ranges available from September/October 2012. Product will retail from $79 to $399.
South side launch
Anthea Solopotias, owner of Melbourne boutique Ganache, has created her own eponymous label, with plans to be stocked in various boutiques across Australia from next season. The 23-piece spring/summer 2012/13 collection, currently available only available from Ganache boutique and online, features elegant silk maxi dresses in pop colours such as fuchsia and floral print, romantic full skirts encrusted with black lace rosettes, tanks with feather finishes, simple tanks with fringing or feather details, lace printed skirts and fun fringed party frocks. The colour scheme is comprised mainly of blacks and neutrals with pops of lilac and pink, with price points ranging from $199 to $1,299.
Step up
Local footwear label Squire shoes has arrived, retailing a range of men’s and women’s shoes via its first stand-alone store on the Oxford Street shopping strip in Paddington, Sydney. The debut autumn/winter range, comprises 10 various styles of boots and shoes for men, and 11 styles of footwear – incorporating stylish patents, colourful suedes and comfortable wedges – for women. The men’s range, which features dripping paint and colourful brush strokes applied to leather, along with vibrant shimmering paisleys to reflect the gentry of the 1940s and 60s, will retail from $159 to $339, in line with the women’s range.

Brazil-based activewear company Scala has launched a new performance-enhancing ‘Fitness’ range into the Australian market, following the success of its Scala BioPromise weight-loss shapewear range. The ‘Fitness’ range, made from material incorporating the same Scala Active BioCrystal technology as the shapewear range, acts to improve exercise performance by increasing circulation and reducing the accumulation of lactic acid in the muscles. The Scala ‘Fitness’ sportswear collection comprises three basic items – Fitness bermuda short, Fitness performance legging, and Fitness T-shirt – with price points ranging from $69.95 to $79.95.
