Fashion chain Kookai has confirmed national expansion plans, as it prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary from August.
The French label, operated in Australia by entrepreneur Rob Cromb and partner Danielle Vagner, is currently sold via 30 stand-alone boutiques across Australia and New Zealand.
However, Cromb has revealed plans to increase the Kookai retail network over the next two years, with the first of its new stores to open in James Street, Brisbane by early September.
Going forward, Cromb said the brand will look to open three to five new stores “depending on how the retail market trends over the coming year”, with a key focus on areas such as the strip destinations around Melbourne and Sydney as well as Brisbane and Adelaide.
The brand has also launched a fresh campaign, shot in Morrocco, to coincide with the 20-year milestone, featuring Australian supermodel Nicole Trunfio and fellow model Illona Novacek.
The campaign, which spruiks the label's latest spring/summer collection 'Arabesque', will continue to be delivered from this month until November/December.
The 'Arabesque' collection also marks the expansion of the Kookai footwear range. While the brand has produced shoes before, generally only one to two styles, this season will see its largest collection released, showcasing six different styles in a variety of colour options.
