In an episode that aired on pay television last night (August 12), 23-year-old Queensland designer Michael Finch became the seventh contestant to be sent packing from the television reality show.
In last night's challenge, contestants were asked to create a racewear outfit with a minimum of three pieces, one of which had to include a headpiece.
To further test the designers, each was partnered with an evicted entrant with the winning contestant allowed to re-enter the competition.
Each pair was given just 10 hours in which to complete the challenge.
Judges, including buyer Sarah Gale, designer Jayson Brunsdon, host Kristy Hinze and guest judge Leona Edmiston, told Finch and his partner Ryan Whelan their outfit looked "dated and cheap" and failed to inspire.
"She looked like one of those girls who you see at the races and you think 'oh yeah, bogan'," Brunsdon said.
Twenty-five-year-old designer Anthony Capon won the challenge, securing his design partner Ivana Stipicic automatic re-entry into the competition.
Gale said the winning outfit had theatrics and was "very lady-like".
Six contestants now remain in the running to win the event - which offers the season two winner a car, a six-page spread in Madison magazine and a $100,000 cash injection to invest in showing their label at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.
The contestants still vying for the prize include Capon, Stipicic, William Lazootin, Capon, Mark Neighbour, Lauren Vieyra and Yopie Starfurik.
