BRISBANE: Fashion designers have been given some breathing room, with applications for a cutting edge fashion incubator extended until December 23.
The QUT Creative Enterprise Australia Fashion Incubator, based within the creative hub of Kevin Grove Urban Village, has extended deadlines for its Start Up Label and Emerging Brand programs.
QUT Creative Enterprise chief executive Anna Rooke said the closing date had been extended to allow applicants to finalise the business and financial conditions required.
"We have received enormous interest in both our residential and non-residential Start UP Label and Emerging Brand programs since announcing our intention to launch the fashion incubator late last month."
Successful applicants will receive one-on-one business development coaching, technical and product support, day-to-day guidance from industry and business professionals as well as access to an advisory panel of leading Australian designers.
Resident designers will be provided with access to studio space and fashion suites, while all participants will have access to a technical stitch lab and production services to create, manufacture, exhibit and sell their designers.
The Start Up program is targeted at commercially-driven designers who are still in the early ages of their business and trading for just two to three seasons.
The Emerging component is targeted at designers who are at the next stage of growth and are seeking brand development and overseas expansion.
