MELBOURNE: Chadstone shopping centre has officially launched its new look mall, with more than 50 new or updated stores unveiled to consumers.
Stores include a flagship for Sportsgirl, with 12 different fashion zones making it the largest shop in Australia for the young womenswear brand. Portmans, Esprit, Forever New, Witchery and Seafolly are also part of the makeover. This brings the tally of stores to more than 460 at the busy suburban centre.
A second stage of renovations is due to be revealled on November 18, which will see a luxury wing open with international brands, premium designers and youth labels. Tiffany & Co., Gucci, Miu Miu, Burberry, Chanel, Coach, Hugo Boss, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Omega and Prada will all appear. This will bring Chadstone's store number to over 500, making it the largest shopping centre in the southern hemmisphere.
The launch celebrations were attended by celebrities including MTV host Ruby Rose, musician Axle Whitehead and model Cassie Van Den Dungen.
Chadstone Shopping Centre is jointly owned by CFS Retail Property Trust and the Gandel Group. It is managed by Colonial First State Global Asset Management.
