The agreement, which includes the forthcoming Castle South Africa 2009 Lions Series and the Rugby World Cup in 2011, is valid till 2013.
Signed for an undisclosed sum, the deal includes the supply of the Springbok playing jersey, training apparel, Baselayer garments and off field clothing.
Canterbury will also assume the responsibilities of the local franchisee which was recently forced into liquidation.
Canterbury will be working closely with South Africa over the coming year to develop a cutting edge new playing strip for the 2011 Rugby World Cup being staged in New Zealand.
The move will complement the apparel brand's existing South African licences as it is already the official kit partner to Super 14 side The Sharks, as well as having an individual sponsorship partnership in place with 2007 IRB World Player of the Year Bryan Habana.
Canterbury said in a statement the new Springbok jersey would be launched in May.
