GOLD COAST: Billabong is building efforts to capture the Asian market with plans to open a third store in Singapore's Changi Airport.
The surfwear brand has awarded travel retail specialist Lagardère Services Asia Pacific the rights to open and operate a third concession store in Changi Airport.
Lagardère opened the first Billabong concession store in terminal three of Changi Airport at the close of 2009. The company will also open a second Billabong site in terminal two in mid-May.
Billabong general manager Asia Phil Nicolle said the company was “delighted” by the speed with which Lagardère had secured the three tenancies.
“Changi Airport is an important step in our development plans for Billabong in Asia,” Nicolle said.
“With its large passenger volumes and importance as a regional hub it provides a great opportunity to grow awareness of the Billabong brand.”
The third Billabong store will be located in terminal one of Changi Airport.
