Apparel Group has confirmed phase two of its digital overhaul will go live pre-Christmas 2012, with the final stages set for early next year.

E-commerce supplier Amblique will commence replacing its e-commerce platform with Demandware in the lead up to December, shifting Sportscraft first before Saba in 2013. This will represent the second phase of its digital strategy and see the websites debut a new look, personalised functions, new search and merchandising capablities and multiple touchpoints through mobile and tablet options.

Apparel Group general manager for emerging technology Peter Ratcliffe told Ragtrader this will pave the way for future programs such as click and collect and store to door.

“As we are moving towards an omni-channel environment, our customers will have access to all inventory across all channels. Currently full collections are available online and in selected stores. We are taking a phased approach to functionality but click and collect is definately a priority.”

While no set dates have been confirmed for click and collect and store to door, Ratcliffe said digital kiosks which debuted at Saba’s Melbourne flagship last year will continue to roll out. He said Apparel Group, which also owns womenswear brand Willow, is always on the lookout for new technology to increase its sales channels.
