Woolworths Group, parent company to Big W and the newly acquired MyDeal, has onboarded two new non-executive directors to the Board effective March 1, 2023, subject to completion of relevant licensing approvals.

Tracey Fellows will join the People Committee, while Warwick Bray steps into the role of Chair of the Audit & Finance Committee.

Fellows was previously President of Global Digital Real Estate for News Corp, responsible for executing the strategy and growth of News Corp’s global digital real estate interests. She was also CEO of REA Group, overseeing the diversification of its global presence and expansion into Southeast Asia and India.

Prior to this, Tracey was a senior executive with Australia Post, and was president of Microsoft Asia Pacific and CEO of Microsoft Australia prior to her position at Australia Post.

Fellows remains a non-executive director of REA Group and Hemnet Group. She holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University.

Bray was formerly the CFO of Telstra, and held various senior roles in corporate strategy and mobile products, including leading the company-wide customer service and productivity transformation. He also previously served on the strategy committee of Groupe Speciale Mobile Association, and on the boards of Foxtel and CSL (Hong Kong).

Earlier in his career, Bray was a partner with McKinsey in Europe, and Head of Telecommunications Equity Research with JP Morgan and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

Bray remains a non-executive director of Spark New Zealand. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Melbourne.

Woolworths Group Chair Scott Perkins welcomed the pair to the Group Board.

“Their experience is both relevant to Woolworths Group’s strategy and complimentary to the skills already represented on our Board,” Perkins said. “I am sure they will both make a material contribution to realising Woolworths Group’s full potential."

Tracey Fellows and Warwick Bray will each stand for election at the 2023 AGM.

Last month, Woolworths Group subsidiary MyDeal was included into the Group's Woolworth’s Everyday Rewards program, adding 14 million new eyes to its customer base.

Everyday Rewards members will be able to earn rewards points when shopping on MyDeal, which sells a wide range of retail items, including fashion and accessories.

MyDeal was acquired by Woolworths Group AU NZ in September 2022 for a reported $218 million.
