Australian retailers are rolling out charitable campaigns in the lead up to Christmas, with apparel ventures leading the charge.
Target Australia has launched a new range of matching Christmas pyjamas, donating $2 from each pair to the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF).
The product will be sold in 130 stores nationally and through its online channels.
Target Australia head of community Kate Thiedeman said the partnership is a part of the company’s community engagement.
“While Christmas can be a wonderful time for so many, for others it’s a time of heightened hardship and can be a difficult period,” Thiedeman said “So whatever we can do to help those who are in need this festive season the better.
“Our hope is that our Christmas support of Australian Childhood Foundation will encourage our customers and team to contribute to important programs that ensure that families and children have the support they need at this time of year and beyond."
Thiedeman said that Target Australia has pledged $250,000 per year across multiple initiatives, including team member fundraising and matching. This also includes online and in-store donation points.
Sussan has also joined the charitable charge, selling two special edition Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) products this October.
The collection includes a pink Australian cotton tee and soft satin sleepwear set, with $10 from every tee and $20 from each sleepwear set sold going towards BCNA's initiatives.
Sussan has supported BCNA for 17 years, raising more than $2.7 million for the cause.
