Lockdown restrictions for City of Brisbane and Moreton Bay region local government areas (LGAs) have been extended until 6pm Saturday 3 July.
Meanwhile, lockdown restrictions will end 6pm Friday 2 July for the LGAs:
- City of Gold Coast
- City of Ipswich
- Lockyer Valley Regional Council
- Logan City
- Noosa Shire Council
- Redland City
- Scenic Rim Regional Council
- Somerset Regional Council
- Sunshine Coast Regional Council
- Townsville City Council
- Palm Island Aboriginal Shire
However, face mask wearing and gathering restrictions will continue to apply in these areas.
The difference between the LGAs and their corresponding lockdown restrictions comes as Queensland Health works to contact trace eight new exposure sites that have been identified after two positive cases were identified.
Meanwhile, Western Australians are eagerly waiting to see if their lockdown will lift as scheduled at 12.01am Saturday 03 July.
Similarly, those in Darwin are also waiting to hear if their lockdown will end at 1pm today (Friday 02 July).
