Australian consumers now have a new way to sell their pre-loved designer pieces, following the launch of new eCommerce platform the Consigned Co.

The launch of the platform comes as the second-hand luxury market experiences strong growth, expected to grow to US$52 billion in the next two years.

Launched by Melbourne woman Jana Tangalakis, the platform allows shoppers to sell, consign and buy pre-loved designer items and offers consumers a new platform to extend the life of luxury items.

"We wanted to provide users with an easy way to sell and consign their pre-loved designer items, but also raise awareness about the benefits of extending luxury product lifecycles and minimising our carbon footprints through purchasing pre-loved items," Tangalakis said of the Consigned Co.

As part of Consigned Co.’s business model, a new collection of selected pieces will drop on the first Monday of each month, introduced by a short campaign video featuring a different team of established creatives within the industry.

The first drop, Style Rotation, features model Camelia Farhoodi showcasing pieces from brands including Gucci, Fendi, Balenciaga and Chanel.

"Every drop will have its own unique vibe, supported by the chosen models, hair and makeup and styling," Tangalakis added.

"Camelia Farhoodi was the perfect choice for Style Rotation given her striking, edgy beauty.

"She really helped bring the vision to life," she said.

To help differentiate itself from its competitors, the Consigned Co shows consumers what each piece looks like on, and how to invest, style and wear it.

All dimensions of the outfit are shown on the model, and every angle is photographed and uploaded to the website.
