Kathmandu has teamed up with Sydney-based artist Mulga (Joel Moore) to launch a lifestyle collaboration collection.
The collection, which spans t-shirts, bottles and beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and tents, features four characters – Larry the Lizard, Nature Jack the Gorilla, Felicity the Fox and Farley the Frog – created exclusively by Mulga for Kathmandu.
The collaboration is a first of its kind for Kathmandu and is part of the brand's wider campaign 'We’re out there.'
"As we continue to drive our purpose of improving the wellbeing of the world through the outdoors, this collaboration with Mulga couldn't be more timely – it's a fun and quirky piece of storytelling that encourages us all to get back out there in nature," Kathmandu chief customer officer Eva Barrett said.
Each with their own unique backstories, the characters spread the message of getting in the outdoors on the t-shirts, with Nature Jack the Gorilla offering a 'Back to Nature' message, a roaming Felicity the Fox with 'Roam Free' and hiking Larry the Lizard with 'Take A Hike' message.
Kathmandu head of product Robert Fry added that the collection speaks to the brand's wider mission.
"The collaboration with Mulga is a fantastic addition to Kathmandu's product offering.
"He worked with Kathmandu’s product team to create a new team of summer-loving characters that cheerfully embody what it means to be ‘out there’.
"Kathmandu exists to improve the well-being of the world through the outdoors, and what supports well-being more than humour and outdoorsy playfulness?" he said.
Mulga echoed Fry's comments.
"Kathmandu is known for quality products and championing outdoor adventure vibes so the opportunity to collaborate and combine my artistic stylings with the Kathmandu vibe has been epic.
"It's a match made in outdoor adventure heaven.
"I'm stoked on how the products turned out and how funky, bright and fun they are," he said.
The limited-edition range is online and in-store now and retails for between $49.98 and $99.98.
