An international star is set to close Telstra Perth Fashion Festival.
Dita Von Teese will debut on the Australian catwalk for Wheels and Dollbaby at Telstra Perth Fashion Festival (TPFF).
It will also mark the return of the Western Australia (WA) label to the festival after four years.
Von Teese will walk on the closing night of TPFF for longtime friend and Wheels and Dollbaby designer Melanie Greensmith.
Greensmith and Von Teese have previously collaborated on designs for the label.
The festival's director Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan is doubly thrilled to see the return of Wheels and Dollbaby to the runway, as well as welcoming Von Teese into the Australian fashion fold.
“I am excited beyond words to have Wheels and Dollbaby back on the TPFF runway. We have assembled some of the world’s best names to partake in TPFF this year, cementing our Western corner of the world as the new wild West – an undisputed hub of creativity.”

Von Teese is also excited to help the brand come back with a bang.
‘I’ve always been a fan of the Wheels and Dollbaby brand aesthetic and I’m really looking forward to being a part of what I know will be a glamorous show. I have so many close friends in Perth and they are always speaking so highly of it, so I’m looking forward to spending time there.’
Greensmith believes it will boost the label's presence in the Australian market.
“I thought it would make one hell of a sexy night for Perth to have my friend Dita walk down the catwalk wearing Wheels and Dollbaby, in the place where everything started for my brand. We’re going to bring the biggest runway party Perth has ever seen to the Festival!”
Even WA minister for tourism Dr Kim Hames has chimed in about the arrival of the burlesque star and designer.
“For the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival to attract someone with the international profile of Dita Von Teese not only speaks volumes about the quality and potential of the event, it will help raise its profile and that of WA.”
Von Teese will bring with her experience on the international runway having walked for the likes of Jean Paul Gaultier and Zac Posen.
TPFF will run from September 15-20.
