David Jones has expanded its food and beverage offering with the extension of its partnership with Peter Rowland Group, along with the addition of new contemporary food brands, a specialised curation of wines and a premium cocktail bar.

While clothing sales are expected to grow 3.9% over the Christmas trading period, food and hospitality are expected to be the big winners with 4.3% and 28.1% growth respectively.

Through its partnership with Peter Rowlans Group, David Jones plans to create a hospitality destination at its David Jones Food Hall in the Elizabeth Street Flagship and at Bondi Junction.

David Jones will also launch an Oyster and Champagne Bar at Bondi Junction, along with a good and wine experience at Elizabeth Street. The tasting plate menu can also be ordered for catered events.

The department store has also partnered with Prince Wine Store to curate wine offerings, as well as launching Vic’s Premium Quality Meats and Parisi at the Elizabeth Street Flagship and Bondi Junction store.

In Melbourne, David Jones recently unveiled a new premium cocktail bar at its Bourke Street Flagship in partnership with Tempus Two.

David Jones Foods MD Keith Evans said the new ventures are an extension of its core product mix.

“At David Jones, it is with great pleasure that we provide our customers not only a place to shop, but an environment where they can come together and experience the best of the world in food and beverage.

The introduction of new food and beverage offerings provide an enhanced experience for customers which we are delighted to share especially in the lead up to the festive season. Our customers can come into our stores and find everything they need for the holidays including premium quality food to help prepare for a flavourful new year.”
