David Jones has forged a partnership with global online wholesale marketplace Ordre to launch Chinese designers at its Sydney CBD flagship.

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, a pop-up will run at David Jones' Elizabeth St store at its designer hub 'On Seven' from February 11-18.

16 Chinese designers have been selected to showcase their collections at the store and will also be available to purchase through David Jones' online store from February 7.

Ordre founder and CEO Simon Lock believes that the partnership will boost the profile of Chinese designers in the Australian market.

“Ordre’s designer portfolio is global and we are extremely fortunate to represent some of the best Chinese designers who are looking to expand their retail presence internationally.

“We were delighted on David Jones’ behalf to bring together a group of 16 of the most innovative Chinese apparel and accessories designers to participate in this great opportunity to engage with consumers in Sydney.”

David Jones general manager womenswear Sophie Clark said that collaborating with Ordre has helped the company to leverage off of its strong relationships with global designers.

“Our Lunar New Year designer collection is made up of the best Chinese designers who are based in various locations around the world.

"Ordre’s expert curation and online showrooms made the wholesale buying process extremely efficient without the requirement of having to dispatch a team of buyers around the world.”

The full list Lunar New Year selected designers is now available on David Jones' website.
