Charlene Perera, the female powerhouse behind the turnaround of footwear brand Hush Puppies, has taken on the Clarks brand under her portfolio.
Brand Collective has had the license for Clarks for nearly 20 years but recent events have seen a significant reshuffle within some teams within the house of brands over recent weeks.
Perera said she is 'beyond excited' for the new challenge and has outlined several major opportunities for the UK based, Clarks brand within Australia.
"The rollout of a digital first brand strategy is of paramount importance to the success of retail within Australia," she said.
Beyond this, she has placed a significant emphasis on increasing the wholesale and retail footprint of the Clarks brand beyond Covid-19.
With a career starting on the shop floor working for an independent apparel retailer to becoming a buying manager at the Cotton On Group, Charlene has had a strong presence in retail over the last 15 years.
Most recently Charlene has also recently completed her Executive MBA at Melbourne Business School whilst working within her GM role at Hush Puppies.
Clarks has four stand-alone stores across Victoria and New South Wales and is available in over 620 wholesale doors nationally.
