Afterpay Australian Fashion Week (AAFW) has revealed designers Bec + Bridge as its headline show.
After a two-year hiatus, Bec + Bridge will present its resort 22/23 collection on opening night, Monday 9 May, in an industry show at Carriageworks in Sydney.
Consumers will then be able to experience the show directly after the industry showcase, with an encore performance taking place at 8pm.
Celebrating 21 years in business in 2022, this year's AAFW will be the designers' 15th Australian Fashion Week presentation.
Bec + Bridge designers and MDs Bec Cooper and Bridget Yorston said they are thrilled to headline this year's event.
"We are excited to return to the schedule this year to celebrate our 21-year anniversary, and share this special milestone with our industry friends and loyal customers.
"Australian Fashion Week is a great stage to propel domestic brands to a global audience, and we are honoured to be this year’s first headline designer runway show," the duo said.
Bec + Bridge debuted on the Australian Fashion Week runway in 2004 in IMG’s Next Gen presentation and have since grown to become one of Australia's most recognisable designer brands.
IMG Fashion Events and Properties APAC vice president-managing director Natalie Xenita said the headline show is the perfect way to celebrate the brand's success.
"Since their first show in 2004, Bec + Bridge has been a regular fixture on the Australian Fashion Week runway.
"Bec and Bridget have inspired a generation of designers and fashion fans who have watched them achieve success on the global stage.
"This show is a fitting celebration of one of Australia’s most enduring and loved fashion brands," she said.
Afterpay Australian Fashion Week will run from May 09 to May 13 2022.
