The Australian Fashion Council is inviting the industry to register for the first FashTech Lab knowledge sharing session.

The program, which was officially launched in January, brings 12 Aussie fashion businesses together with tech companies to commercialise sustainable practices.

Since the official launch, the program has begun with a business diagnostic workshop, provided by SME@UTS and IMCRC.

With the project off and rolling, the program participants are set to share their first experiences, challenges and key learnings on March 02.

AFC CEO Leila Naja Hibri said the program will help businesses to create efficiencies while also having a positive impact on the environment.

"Today, the fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters in the world.

"These tech solutions, when combined together in a systematic workflow, will not only aim at reducing textile waste and carbon emissions, they will also help fashion brands conserve precious resources in time and money through newfound operational efficiencies," she said.

The FashTech Lab program is supported by the City of Sydney and the University of Technology Sydney.

Industry can register for the first knowledge sharing session on the AFC website.
