Thread Together will now be able to support over 500 charities and partners, following the opening of its new warehouse in Banksmeadow Sydney.

The new location was officially opened by Her Excellency The Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of NSW and was attended by high-profile Thread Together fashion partners.

The 1600sqm space will future-proof Thread Together for the next three years and will become a hub for giving back, founder Andie Halas said.

"This new facility will allow us to grow and be a communal hub for giving back.

"A place where volunteers will come, a place where the long term unemployed can find work and purpose and where we will explore how to make changes in the environmental space.

"Literally a place where we encourage service to the community and each other at every level.

"Thread Together will be all that it can and should be," she said.

Alongside the Governor of NSW, the facility was toured by Jess Scully, Deputy Lord Mayor of Sydney, Alex Greenwich, MP Member for Sydney, Joe Awada, Mayor of Bayside and Susan Wynne, Mayor of Woollahra.

Fashion guests included The Iconic CEO Erica Berchtold, Ginger & Smart co-founders Alexandra and Genevieve Smart, designer Bianca Spender, Camilla and Marc co-founders Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman, P.E Nation co-founder Pip Edwards, Australian Fashion Council CEO Leila Naja Hibri and IMG Fashion Events Group, APAC executive director Natalie Xenita.

The new warehouse will supply clothing across the nation to charities, partners, and social service agencies, including NSW Health, the Department of Justice and Correction Services and the Department of Family and Community Services.

Thread Together CEO Anthony Chesler welcomed the opportunity to save more clothes from landfill.

"We are beyond excited to be in this new space which will allow us to save more brand-new clothing from going to landfill and to help many more vulnerable Australians all around the country with essential clothing - a basic human right," he said.

The new warehouse opened on February 04 and is located on Botany Road in Banksmeadow.
