Myer has unveiled its newly refurbished Belconnen store.

The store now operates across two floors (12,000sqm) and features a mix of 40 new and exclusive brands.

The works were undertaken as part of Myer's broader strategy to optimise and reduce its store space across the portfolio over closing stores.

Since the arrival of CEO John King in June 2018, the department store has reduced space under its ‘Customer First Plan’, which also included the relocation of its support office to a smaller space and the reduction of its Cairns store to one level.

Speaking on the refurbished store, Myer Belconnen manager Lee Dougan said that the store was thrilled to be full operational again.

"The Belconnen store is looking incredible, with every part of the two floors refurbished and providing the best possible shopping environment and experience to our customers.

"The team are so excited to have the store fully operational after almost a year of works, and can’t wait to show customers the refurbished store and our exciting new brands," he said.

On LinkedIn, the business added that it was excited to continue serving the local community in its new store.

"With more than 40 new brands added, a leading in store experience and modern layout, it’s great to continue providing, after more than 40 years, leading service and retail experience to the local community," Myer said.

New and exclusive brands featured in the store include Polo Ralph Lauren, R.M Williams, Seed and French Connection.

On opening day, Myer celebrated with a range of activities including a glitter bar, balloon artists, roving entertainers and giveaways.
