After more than a century of trade in New Zealand, outdoor clothing brand Swanndri has launched into the Australian market.

Swanndri will be on display at the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise “Discover New” pop-up at David Jones’ flagship
Sydney store.

Swanndri CEO Mark Nevin welcomed the historic venture into Australia.

“Swanndri has been part of the fabric of New Zealand for nearly 110 years,” says Swanndri CEO Mark Nevin. “It is loved and trusted by generations for its ability to keep them protected from the elements.

“We are so excited to be able to showcase our famous outdoor clothing in the premium retail environment of David Jones and hope Australians love the range as much as New Zealanders do.”

Swanndri was first launched in 1913 and has since become a staple brand in outdoor clothing. Last month, as part of her visit to the US, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern gifted President Joe Biden with Swanndri dog coats for his German Shepherds.

First sold in 1913, Swanndri’s flagship clothing item is its OG bushshirt, which is a loose-fitting woollen shirt.

The outerwear is made sustainably from New Zealand wool and the range is said to be popular with the younger audience.

“Go to any college Rugby match in New Zealand you will see a sea of Swanndri,” Nevin said.

“It is a brand that was born in the outdoors but has become very much at home in the cities and suburbs. I can’t wait to see the same fashion statement at the AFL or rugby league in Australia very soon.”
