Australian bridal brand Grace Loves Lace has announced a partnership with textile recycler, Upparel.

The deal will see all of the brand's fabric waste recycled by Upparel, preventing it from ending up in landfill.

Grace Loves Lace founder and creative director Megan Ziems welcomed the partnership with Upparel.

"As a brand, we never stop looking for ways in which we can do better.

"After innovating our fabrics and packaging, the natural next step was to look at how we could improve our operations and waste management so that we can be really proud of how we function as a business.

"If it can be done, we will do it, and this partnership with Upparel is a huge revolution for us, knowing that 100% of our fabric waste will now be recycled.

"It’s a fantastic opportunity to show in more ways than one that we can be a bridal brand who has the environment and our impact front of mind," she said.

The partnership with Upparel coincides with Grace Loves Lace's launch of its second sustainable gown, Peaches Pearl.

The popular gown has been reimagined using the brand's recycled GRS-certified pearl lace, and follows the launch of the first eco wedding gown Lumi in 2021.

Similarly to its predecessor Lumi, Peaches Pearl – in total – is made using 95.5% recycled materials.

The launch of the eco gowns builds on the brand's ethical stance, as well as its commitment to manufacturing in Australia.

"It’s exciting to see just how far we can go with not only being ethical but also creating fabrics that have less impact for the planet, whilst not losing any design, quality or construction elements that we need," Ziems added.

"We knew we wanted to launch more styles in our eco lace and with so much customer love for our classic Peaches gown, we knew she was ‘the one!’

"The pearlescent threading and scale of the floral pattern really revolutionises the style, making her a standout gown.

"Knowing that up to two-thirds of the sustainability impact of fashion happens at the raw materials stage, we made the decision to source and develop our own 100% eco lace in our signature pearl design.

"We were inspired to take materials that would have been otherwise discarded and use modern technology to create a luxurious fabrication that brides can feel proud to wear on their wedding day," she said.

To accommodate brides that have had to reschedule their special day, Grace Loves Lace has added the Peaches Pearl gown to the ready-to-wear line, meaning that it will be shipped within three days of order.

The Peaches Pearl gown launches online today in sizes XS to XXL and retails for $2,500.
