SYDNEY: Lisa Maree will target Queensland boutiques at Swimshow Australia as the label works to complement recent international gains with growth on home soil.
The young swimwear label, founded and designed by Lisa Maree Boersma, will exhibit at Swimshow Australia on March 23 to 25 along with over 30 other brands. Boersma said her goal for the trade show was to grow the label's local distribution, “especially in Queensland”.
“We will always have a strong focus on the local market, as the Australian beach culture is what inspired me to create the label,” Boersma said.
Also on Lisa Maree's trade show schedule are plans to exhibit at New York Fashion Week from February 10 to 17.
“There seems to be a big demand for crochet swimwear abroad, so we hope to emulate the same success [we've enjoyed in Australia] in markets such as the US and Europe,” Boersma said.
Lisa Maree currently has about 10 stockists in the US including newly acquired accounts with Urban Outfitters and Free People. The label will also by stocked by premier international e-tailer Net-A-Porter from March 2011.
Local stockists include Wild Child (SA), Bikini Island (NSW) and Miss Mouse (QLD).
Lisa Maree's debut winter 2011 collection features crochet cover-ups and swimwear, lycra swimwear and silk apparel including jumpsuits and kaftans. Retail price points range from $100 to $290 and sizes from women's six to 12.
