NATIONAL: A private funeral will be held today for Traudl Troska, after the iconic Australian-based designer lost her battle with ovarian cancer last week.
It is understood Troska passed peacefully on September 4, with husband and business partner Steve by her side. Her label Von Troska was at the forefront of Australian fashion throughout the 1980s and 90s, garnering coverage across leading consumer titles such as Vogue Australia and Marie Claire.
Her luxe bohemian brand launched at a humble stall at Paddington Markets (Sydney) in the early 80s, growing to seven stores across Sydney's CBD, Paddington, Mosman, Chatswood and Double Bay at the height of its success.
Troska sold the label in 2006, when she began to work exclusively on designing and creating jewellery brand Schön.
